Sodium CarboxymethylCellulose (CMC)

Sodium CarboxymethylCellulose (CMC)

Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) is a non-toxic and odorless white flocculent powder with stable performance and easily soluble in water. Its aqueous solution is a neutral or alkaline transparent viscous liquid, soluble in other water-soluble glues and resins, but insoluble In organic solvents such as ethanol. CMC can be used as a binder, thickener, suspending agent, emulsifier, dispersant, stabilizer, sizing agent, etc.

Application

Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose is widely used in the petroleum industry as a drilling mud conditioner, synthetic detergents, organic surfactants, textile printing and dyeing sizing agents, water-soluble gelling agents for household chemical products, thickening and emulsifying agents in the pharmaceutical industry, thickening agents in the food industry, adhesives in the ceramic industry, industrial pastes, adhesive agents in the paper industry, and more. CMC also employed in water treatment as a coagulant, primarily for wastewater sludge treatment, where it can increase the solid content of the filter.
