Re-Dispersible Polymer Powder (RDP)

Re-Dispersible Polymer Powder (RDP), is a type of powdered polymer obtained by spray-drying a water-based emulsion of a co-polymer consisting of vinyl acetate and ethylene. and known as VAE (Vinyl Acetate Ethylene) co-polymer powder, is a widely used additive in construction materials and various other applications. The application of the mortar, giving the mortar the following properties:

 

  1. Improve the cohesion, and theRDP powder forms a film between the hydration products, the capillary wall of the cement mortar, and the micro-cracks.
  2. Improve the bonding strength with the interface, and the RDP powder forms a film at the interface to improve the inter-molecular
  3. Improve the flexibility and deform-abilityof the mortar, and the adhesive film can reduce the amount of elastic film, bridge the micro-cracks in the sand frame, and the interface between the cementitious material and the aggregate.
  4. Improve air-tightnessand water resistance, and RDP powder forms a film on the capillary wall and micro-cracks. Improve work-ability.

Performance of Redispersible Polymer Powder in dry mortar:

 

  1. Enhance the adhesion between dry mortar and various substrates, ensuring the weather-resistant bond strength of the mortar under various usage conditions. For instance, improving the bond strength between thermal insulation mortar and substrates like EPS boards, EPS particles, concrete walls, and brick walls.
  2. Reduce the material’s elastic modulus, thereby enhancing its elasticity and flexibility. This allows the material to withstand base material deformations, external impact forces, temperature fluctuations, and freeze-thaw deformations. For example, re-dispersible polymer powder can significantly enhance the dynamic crack resistance of putty, heat aging resistance of tile adhesive, and impact resistance of EPS board insulation systems.
  3. Redispersible polymer powder can decrease the material’s water absorption rate, with hydrophobic latex powder having a more pronounced effect. This reduction in moisture absorption minimizes damage to the molded mortar.
  4. Certain types of re-dispersible polymer powders can improve the mortar’s resistance to settling and its flowability, thereby enhancing the construction performance of the mortar.

 

Packaging & Storage

 

Store it in a cool,dry and place temperature below 30℃. Compound triple paper-plastic square bottom value package. N.W. is 25kg/per bag.

 

Transportation

During transportation, the products shall be moved gently to prevent damaging the packing bags. Avoid direct contact with Naked flame, when fire happens, any fire fighting equipment may be use to extinguish the fire.

 

Shelf Life

1 year, exceeding valid period, if the products have not lumped and can still be used.
